![]() It is one of my favorite dj sets full stop. But what comes across throughout is the sense that he was going for it big time. There are many errors.some of which were intentional.many of which were not. The music represented was a typically eclectic mix of electro, techno, disco, two step, rock, reggae and dub. Particularly cos the bar was open once again. He wanted to make it clear that shit was about to get funky and that despite the late hour he expected folks to git down. The record essentially acted like a large mic diaphragm.picking up the surrounding noise and channeling it to the needle. His voice and the increasingly frenzied crowd response were picked up by the stylus on the record player. At the beginning of the part 1 you can hear Thomas standing on top of the turntables yelling at the crowd. This set, at the legendary but now defunct club 177 Townsend, started at approx 6 am when the bar re-opened for business. Thomas Bullock a DJ and part of the Wicked Sound system collective in San Francisco was the creator of this rather remarkable set of music that he called "eye of the tiger".
